About the American Muscle Tractor Alliance

The American Muscle Tractor Alliance has been formed to promote muscle tractor, farm stock and diesel truck pulling from all class categories that have traditionally been the cornerstone of the sport. This includes unlimited horsepower classes such as Light Limited Super Stocks, Limited Pro Stocks, Light Weight and Limited Pro Stocks, as well as the traditional classes that are limited by MPH. We celebrate the history of vehicles from the farm to the track featuring everything from stock to high-performance. The American Muscle Tractor Alliance is promoted by Tom McConnel under the American Tractor Pullers Association.

Tom founded the ATPA in 1991 and it quickly became the largest sanctioning body of nationwide pulling until the company was sold in 2005. In 2009, Tom along with puller Kevin Fulks were the initial founders the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series and Tom departed in 2018 to form the Vintage Tractor Pullers Association (VTPA) and to resurrect the ATPA under a new vision. Tom McConnell has developed numerous shows with major sponsorship and marketing programs and national television coverage. In 2018 Tom partnered with RAM Trucks for a program exclusive to pulling that continues today.

The ATPA will be sanctioning American Muscle Tractor Alliance events in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and others states in 2025.
